Caretta has 21 air-conditioned apartments over three floors. There are no lifts - but almost everyone find the stairs very easy. Ground floor apartments may suit those with mobility difficulties (please ask). With a large kidney shaped pool (14m x 6m and 1.3m to 2.0m deep), there is also a small splash pool for younger children, and a (quite bracing) outdoor jacuzzi. The bar area is separate to the pool and offers a good sized shaded area for cooling down with a refreshing drink through the day. The kitchen provides tasty meals throughout: from a full Turkish - or "full English" - breakfast, to hot snacks , to fresh salads, tasty "toasties" and individually prepared sandwiches. A wide range of drinks and ice-creams is available all day/evening. And in the evenings a full dining menu is served - where a lovely meal can continue into a warm and sociable evening around the friendly bar. The apartments are 1 x bedroom (two have an extra small bedroom/single bed at no extra charge), with four 2 x bedroomed (get in quick if you are a family/larger party). All are well maintained, very clean, and large - with enough living and sleeping space for 4 adults, and in the two bedroomed for 6 adults. Most have a double bed (unusual in a tourist area - but much appreciated by couples). Twin single beds are available in some apartments (so mention this if needed) - and also in the second of the two bedroomed apartments. All have a comfortable double sofabed in the living room. The bedrooms each have a double wardrobe, dressing table/mirror with stool, and bedside cabinets - with plenty of space for suitcases. Each living area has a kitchenette with two or four ring hob and fridge with ice-box, as well as cupboards/work surfaces and kitchen equipment/crockery enough for preparing basic meals and snacks and a dining table and chairs with the sofabed. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink/mirror as well as a hair dryer. Balconies (or patio area for ground floor apartments) range from compact to very large - and all have a fold-out drying-rack for rinsing clothes and beach towels. Caretta Apart Hotel is in Calis, near Fethiye, in the south west corner of Turkey, right on the Mediterranean. Calis is well known for its welcome cooling breeze during the very hot summers, as well as superb sunsets. The area is quite flat with the sea in front and mountains behind and is popular with familes and couples.
