Information about the area: A short distance from the house (3 and 5 minutes by car ) you come to the tiny villages of Villa and Bogliaco. These three lakeside jewels have many family-run shops, bars, supermarkets, banks, a post office, petrol stations, a police station, clean pubblic beaches and small restaurants (trattorie). There is a market on Thursday mornings 10 minutes away by car in the next village, Toscolano, and there are also boats and ferries to the next town, Maderno. There are sailing and windsurfing schools both in Gargnano, Toscolano and nearby towns and 1 km inland there is an 18 hole golf course. The local fish men sell fresh fish caught on the lake every morning from 6-7 am, as well as other local produce such as freshly laid eggs and great local wines. It's often possible to hire a small boat for lake cruising. The place really comes to life for sailing types in the Cento week (Cowes week on Garda) during the first 2 weeks in September.
