The House is a 3 bedroom French Villa style home .Clean, spacious with a log fire and half an acre of surrounding garden for all the summer evenings BBQ’s and outdoor entertainment. Nearby: shops, pony club, free tennis, hiking path, Charente edge to picnic (700m), canoe-kayak, race track (15km), Castle of Bayers Verteuil, La Rochefoucauld. Archaeological and Neolithic sites, Francophone film festival in Angouleme in August, festival of comics in Angoulême in January.It is 15 miles south of Ruffec and only 30 minutes from the bustling `city of Angoulême. The nearest supermarket is just 10 minutes drive, and there are hypermarkets at Ruffec which is about 20 minutes drive. There is a boulangerie and traditional French bar/restaurant 3-4 minutes away. The area offers a vast choice of things to do. There are beautiful villages such as Nanteuil-en Vallée with it's pretty streets, or larger, busier places such as La Rochefaucauld or Angoulême. A variety of sports are available nearby. Golf, karting, horse riding, ice-skating, canoeing along the Charente river, and there are a number of water sports available at the man-made beaches of the Lac de Lavaud or Angoulême.The distilleries of Cognac are one hours drive away, there a number of beautiful chateaux to see, and the coast is about an hour and a half away.
