Throughout the summer the great houses of Castle Howard Sledmere Duncombe Park Rievaulx Abbey and Burton Agnes Hall are open to the public and are all within easy reach. Popular Eden Camp at Malton is 17 miles and from Pickering (25 miles) you can board the famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway to journey over the 'Heartbe gas cast iron stove and French doors to verandah overlooking Digby's Lake.
