Roussillon one of France?s most beautiful villages 8 km is worth a visit to see the amazing colours of the rock formations. Gordes clinging to the edge of a spur of Mont Ventoux has sandstone houses tumbling down narrow cobbled streets and a colourful selection of boutiques offering a range of Proven al products. From here try an exhilarating drive down to the C12th Cistercian Abbaye de S nanque and its lavender fields ? the monks still produce the pungent herb-flavoured liqueur called S nancole!
